Cake Types
Euro Delice would like to help you to find the best possible cake for your wedding. Below are the sorts of factors you might want to consider. In our free consultations with you, we will go through such points with you in detail.

1. How many people will be attending?

It is important to consider carefully consider the size and shape of the cake you want. If your wedding cake is rich fruit, not only will it serve more guests, it will also keep for over a year. Sponge cake on the other, although it serves fewer and lasts only a short period of time, compliments a wide variety of flavours.

2. The image you want to convey

You might want to consider:

The colour scheme/theme of your wedding and wedding venue. Since the wedding cake is so central to this, its design will have a major impact and we recommend a consultation for further advice.

  The style of your cake-

  • Classic: traditional wedding cakes are still exceedingly popular.
  • Novel designs: breaking with tradition can result in some amazingly quirky, intricate, and spectacular cakes. Why not impress your guests with a wedding cake in the form of a fairytale castle, or an elephant, or anything else your imagination can conjure up.
  • Chocolate: whether dark or milky, sometimes chocolate hits the right spot.

Cake accessories are vital to the success of a cake. Everything from the choice of cake stand, to the flowers, to the couple atop your cake will impact the overall image. Euro Delice has a range of accessories and stands available for sale/rent.

How many tiers your cake has can impact how central it is to the design of your reception. Our catalogue may help to give you an idea of this.

3. Choosing the cake type

A traditional wedding cake is made from rich fruit. Our rich fruitcake uses a unique recipe, which we believe, erases many of the gastronomic prejudices you might have, but nonetheless, many people simply do not enjoy rich fruitcake. Alternatives include the many types of sponge cake, Madeira cake, lemon cake, and others.

However, you need to remember that no type of cake keeps as well as rich fruit, which means that there is little choice if you want to save the top tier for your first anniversary as is traditional. A compromise is that if you or some of your guests do not like one of either fruit cake or sponge, have alternating layers, or even cupcakes, of different cake types.

4. You and your guests' dietary needs

Wedding cakes demand special attention if there are dietary needs to consider. For very little additional cost you can please all your guests with cakes which are eggless, sugar free, wheat free, dairy free, nut free, vegan, or Halal or Kosher.

5. When to order your wedding cake.

We recommend doing this at the earliest possible stage, so that there is time for careful planning and consultation. However, Euro Delice only requires an order to be placed a minimum of three weeks before the delivery date, although we cannot guarantee to have booking space (especially in the busy season). We will try to help you as much as we can, so in exceptional cases, with notice of less than three weeks, we will make you a priority.
